We decided to do what every other American was going to do this Spring Break- go to Mexico. Only, as we were all on a budget and miles away from Cancun our next best option was Rocky Point in Puerto Penasco just south of the boarder of Arizona. Fun times were ahead!
We decided to do what every other American was going to do this Spring Break- go to Mexico. Only, as we were all on a budget and miles away from Cancun our next best option was Rocky Point in Puerto Penasco just south of the boarder of Arizona. Fun times were ahead!
All six of us girls piled into my roomies car and we headed on down to Mexico, via Tucson, Arizona. On crossing the boarder we were warned; if anyone tries to stop you, just keep driving! Apparently as a group of girls we are vulnerable to rogue cartel groups who pose as police officers to persuade people to stop and then kidnap us…well that really was a friendly welcome back to Mexico!
Our apartment was…small. But it did the trick, we dumped our stuff and hit the beach. I hitched a ride on a quad bike and beat everyone down there. It had only been a couple of weeks since Hawai’i, but I needed my sea fix! It was only 11am but the bar was already buzzing.
We were here for the whole week and each day basically just involved lounging on the beach, chilling in day bars, drinking and sleeping and each night hitting a new party bar in the very small town, with LOTS of tacos on the way home! YUM! We made many friends, but it was surprising how many people we knew that we kept bumping into! The highlight of this trip for me was definitely meeting Alberto and Ryan (Alberto being the whitest Mexican you will ever meet! You legend!)
Most American students along the south boarder between America and Mexico head to Mexico for Spring Break as the drinking age ISN’T 21. They also often get too drunk too fast and end up making fools of themselves, as my roomie did on the last night. Bless, her head is gonna hurt in the morning!
